Rebound Exercise is the therapeutic movement on the mini-trampoline.; it is a safe, effective style of aerobics that provides a surprisingly challenging cardiovascular workout without excess stress on the heart, muscles and joints so is suitable for all fitness levels and ages. Because it moves all parts of the body at once it is also a cellular exercise. When we think about the bodily functions, we know that the heart is the pump for the blood, but the lymphatic system (white blood system) does not have a pump. It is only moved by physical activities. And rebounding is the perfect activity, because it gets everything moving at once. As a cellular exercise rebounding also helps to remove toxins and to deliver and absorb nutrients at the cellular level where it can be converted into energy. There are three natural forces: gravity, acceleration and deceleration, rebounding is superior to others because it uses these. In rebounding you line up acceleration and deceleration with gravity creating G-Force. The increase in G-Force is what gives you all the benefits of rebounding. Rebounding can be done anywhere that you can comfortably fit the trampoline and have enough headroom to bounce safely. For this reason it is suitable for office or home-bound people who do not have the time or ability to exercise outside of work/home.
Obviously the more frequently you rebound and the longer your workout is the more beneficial it is. Anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 is a good workout time. You have to find your own routine and do it every day or at least 3-4 times a week. To avoid getting bored, or to suit your aims and fitness level, you can do a variety of bounces on your rebounder:
Health Bounce - This move bounces you gently without leaving the mat. By just continuing the up and down movement for 2 minutes you can increase your lymph flow up to 14 times.
Strength Bounce - For this bounce you should spread you legs shoulder-wide and bounce up and down leaving the mat.
Aerobic Bounces - For this bounce you must increase your heart rate and maintain that increase for 20 minutes for maximum benefit. This is accomplished by vigorous movements on the on the rebounder including jogging, sprinting, twisting, shuffles, kicking or curling your legs, jumping jacks etc. Including some movement of lifting of the arms above the heart will increase the heart rate and the oxygen flow.
